Event Info
Event: McHenry County Men’s Senior Amateur Golf Tournament
Date: Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th, 2024
Eligibility: Any male amateur golfer that is at least 50 years old as of August 16th, 2024
Format: This is a 2 day, 36 hole stroke play event. Players will be paired according to handicap for the 1st round. Players will then be placed in flights according to 1st round scores. The number of flights will be determined based upon the number of entries received for the event. There will be approximately 12-20 players per flight.
Entry Fee: $185 (Includes greens fees, cart fees and gift certificates awarded to the top finishers in each flight.)
Entry Deadline: Sunday, August 11th at 11:59 p.m.
Starting Times and Groupings: Tee times for the 1st round will be posted by 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13th. Tee times for the 2nd round will be posted at the conclusion of round one. Pairings can be viewed at www.mchenrycountysenioram.com in the tee times link. Players will also be emailed pairings once they are finalized.
Practice Rounds: Please call Foxford Hills GC at 847 639-0040 to set up a practice round tee time.
SPIKE POLICY:
Metal and/or soil penetrating spikes will not be allowed at this event. Penalty for breach of this rule is disqualification.
DRESS CODE:
Contestants may not wear blue jeans and may not wear collarless t-shirt or tank tops. While on the host facility property, caddies may wear either long pants or tailored solid colored knee length shorts. Blue jeans, cutoffs, T-shirts or shirts with no collar shall not be worn. Smooth rubber sole shoes are required. Golf shoes with traditional metal spikes are prohibited. Penalty – Disqualification.
CONDUCT:
While on host facility property; players and caddies shall conduct themselves in a professional manner. All players MUST abide by the Tournament Rules & Regulations listed on the McHenry County Sr. Amateur website. The tournament committee reserves the right to remove a player from the competition for; conduct unbecoming a professional by the player; conduct unbecoming a professional by the players’ caddie. Communication devices must be powered off during the stipulated round by players and caddies. Penalty – Disqualification.
RULES OF GOLF:
Play shall be governed in accordance with the Rules of Golf of the United States Golf Association, as modified by any Local Rules and Conditions of Competition card and supplemented by the Notice to Competitors.
Notes:
a. Ride, Carry or Caddie Policy
Players will be required to take a golf cart for the 2024 event. Cart fees are included in the entry fee.
b. Driving Range Info
Range balls are available for purchase in the pro shop.
c. Electronic Measuring Devices
Electronic measuring devices WILL be allowed for the event. In general, GPS devices and range finders – provided each example only displays point to point distances without adjustment for any other factor – are going to be acceptable. However, devices or applications that can be used on cell phones or tablets (like an iPad) are not legal.
